Everything Is Green
Maxon & Like Bear
Celebrating joy, nature, and belonging, ‘Everything is Green’ was inspired by preserving cherished Green Wedge landscapes.
Why we wrote this song
We wrote Everything is Green to celebrate the Mornington Peninsula’s green wedge landscapes and the joy, belonging, and connection they inspire. The song uses the colour green to symbolise renewal, positivity, and the vital bond between people and nature.
We care deeply about this issue because these landscapes are essential to our community’s identity and well-being. They provide spaces for reflection, creativity, and connection, reminding us of the beauty we are part of and our responsibility to protect it. Preserving the green wedge means safeguarding not only the natural environment, but also the shared experiences and inspiration it gives us all.
Through this song, we wanted to honour that relationship and encourage others to reconnect with the simple, profound joy of living alongside a thriving natural world.
About us as artists
Maxon & Like Bear are an award-winning Australian songwriting duo celebrated for their ability to weave together organic melodies and deeply evocative lyrics. While Maxon has often shared her music with the world as a solo artist, with Like Bear collaborating on all the songs yet quietly supporting from behind the scenes,
Everything is Green marks a significant moment in their journey. This is the first of many duets and co-releases to come from this remarkable partnership. Their music draws from the natural world and the shared human experience, capturing both stillness and reflection while honouring the beauty found in life’s simplest, most profound moments.
About the music video
The Everything is Green video follows Max and Nay in an industrial warehouse, singing to a single growing plant. Surrounded by concrete walls and industrial structures, their focus on the plant transforms the space into a moment of reflection and stillness. It’s a meditation on care, attention, and the beauty that arises when we nurture life, even in unexpected or harsh environments.
Interwoven throughout are sweeping shots of the Mornington Peninsula’s landscapes and studio shots of the Max and Nay writing the song, highlighting the connection between people and nature, and reminding viewers of the resilience and joy found in the natural world.
The plant’s growth mirrors the themes of renewal and human connection central to the song, creating a visual metaphor for the power of tending to what matters most. Through this blend of intimate performance and evocative nature imagery, the video encourages viewers to pause, reflect, and celebrate the extraordinary in life’s simplest, most vibrant moments.
