We've Got The Power

Sunny Luwe

A call for action, Sunny Luwe’s bold Eco-Anthem reminds us, “We’ve Got The Power” to make meaningful change.

Why I wrote this song

I wrote We’ve Got The Power after attending Rally for Rainforests, organised by the Bob Brown Foundation. We all met in Magadjin/Brisbane and marched from Musgrave Park to the Government building. I felt so inspired by everyone’s passion for this cause, and the fact that all these beautiful people were standing up for a better world.

I left the rally and met my writing partner in the studio and we finished this song in 30mins. I have always loved it, and felt so honoured that we got to write it.
The song includes samples from the protest as well, and I collaborated with the Bob Brown Foundation on the film clip.

I care about advocating for rainforests because I am an Indigenous woman, I love the Earth, I love so many humans that call this place home, and I want to be a Mum one day, and with that in mind, I want to do what I can to advocate for what is right.
Power to the People acting with love in their hearts!

About the music video

I really wanted to capture the rally that inspired this song. I reached out to the Bob Brown team and they were happy to share their video with me, and shred the song several times around it’s release.

We additionally including photos from Ramji Ambroissen who has been documenting the deforestation occurring in Tasmania’s Takyana – BBF has been actively protesting this.

We additional filmed some live performance scenes too to showcase myself and my band mates.
